Days 6 thru 12 of 94
On Day 6 we headed north. Remember when I shared that day #2 was our longest sail ever? Well, we already broke our record. We got to our expected stopping place then decided to keep going all the way to Bellingham. We were on the water over 9 hours. It was exhausting, but we arrived feeling well and got a good nights sleep. You might be surprised to hear just how slow sailing really is. In that 9 hours we sailed 67 miles. That is not a typo, the average sailboat takes 9 hours to travel the distance a car does in 1 hour. It really is about the journey.

LaConner - half way between Everett and Bellingham
Endeavor spent 6 nights at the marina in Bellingham, WA. That worked well while I was away for my trip, and George was able to accomplish a lot. The solar is now wired and producing energy. We love watching the instrument panel and seeing how much power is going in. Also, Starlink is a game changer.

SHS class of '84 - Yes, our mascot is the Red Devil
I had a wonderful time at my 40th high school reunion. The only other one I attended was the 10 year, and it felt a little bit like an extension of high school. This time, though, it was unexpectedly amazing. We were all old enough and wise enough to appreciate and care about everyone there. I connected in meaningful ways and felt much love for many of my classmates. I am still a little blown away. What an incredible group of people. Thanks, SHS ’84, we may be a bunch of Red Devils, but you are amazing human beings! BONUS: Getting to spend time with family. Enjoy some of my grandkids.

On Tuesday we left in the afternoon for a short 30-minute sail to Fair Haven. In good news - this was our first night not in a marina. YEA!!! In bad news – I hate mooring buoys. We got all tied up, nice and safe, but our path, again, looks like a big pile of spaghetti. Next time we will just anchor.

Wednesday we realized we had bought the wrong part at the Bellingham marina store so we decided to break in the new dinghy by taking it back across the bay to return it. It took about n45 min each way and was so fun. She is a beaut! I cannot wait until her motor break in period is over so we can see what she can really do.
Truth time…..I did cry twice on Tuesday, but zero times on Wednesday, so I am still within my goal of only once a day. Honestly, I really don’t cry that much, but we are doing something difficult and new and communication is not easy when stress is a factor. I love my man and know he loves me, but sometimes we both fail. However, I am not as afraid of failure as I used to be and if for some strange reason that is the only thing that comes of this Endeavor of ours, it will still be worth it.

That flight from Bellingham to Seattle was incredible
